National board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease and a state board certified glaucoma specialist. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Munich in Germany, going on to obtain his Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston in Texas. He underwent residency training in ocular diseases at the Vision Education Foundation in Oklahoma City. In addition, Dr. Taroyan received extensive advanced training from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia in Medical Optometry. Dr. Taroyan has been honored by his peers as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). He belongs to the American Optometric Association and the German Society of Contact Lens Specialists.

Providing high quality comprehensive eye examinations, eye disease management, emergency care, laser vision management, contact lens services, and consultations has and will always be the focus of Dr. Markar Taroyan since 1985 when his practice was established in West Plano. Twenty-five years later, he continues to not only serve the community of Plano, Dallas and surrounding cities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, but also uses his multi-lingual abilities and extensive knowledge of the eye and eye disorders and diseases by being involved in international programs designed to help those in need by traveling to them and providing care and education of eye disease prevention and treatments.
