Diagnostic Instrumentation
Humphrey Corneal Topographer

Humphrey Corneal Topographer

  • Measures the shape and variations on the surface of the cornea
  • Is fast, easy, and comfortable
This simple test assists the doctor in prescribing contact lenses, assessing the corneal health of contact lens wearers, and diagnosing corneal disorders.
Humphrey Corneal Topographer

Humphrey Fields Analyzer (FTD)

  • Measures peripheral vision, sensitivity to light, and tests for blind spots
  • Takes about 40 seconds, is easy, and comfortable
This highly sophisticated instrument assists Dr. Taroyan in the early detection of brain tumors, Glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and other health disorders.

Humphrey Corneal Topographer

Octopus Perimeter 1-2-3 Visual Fields Test

  • Like the FTD, measures peripheral vision and blind spots
  • Unlike FTD, far more in-depth and specialized for patients with suspected or expected peripheral vision loss
  • Takes less than 5 minutes to test both eyes
A visual fields test with this instrument goes into greater depth than the FTD Fields Analyzer and assists the doctor in the detection of brain tumors, Glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and other health disorders.

Heidelberg HRT 3

  • Designed to detect early Glaucoma before damage occurs
  • Provides an accurate description of retinal health
  • Patient-friendly and non-invasive
This is an exciting new addition to the practice allowing Dr. Taroyan to accurately measure changes to the retina and view the progression of retinal disease, useful in treatment planning and prevention of vision loss. This test is particularly important for Glaucoma progress evaluation and diabetic progress evaluation.

Topcon Non-Mydriatic Retinal Camera (Retina Map)

  • Designed to detect early Glaucoma before damage occurs
  • Provides an accurate description of retinal health
  • Patient-friendly and non-invasive
Instead of the approximation currently involved in traditional testing, the RetinaMap provides Dr. Taroyan with an accurate, objective picture of the back of the eye ensuring early detection and diagnosis of ocular diseases.

Leica Automatic Non-Contact Tonometer (sometimes named the "Puff Test")

  • Measures your intraocular pressure(the pressure inside your eye)
  • Helpful in flagging Glaucoma suspects
  • Delivers a gentle "puff" of air to each eye
Tonometry is an essential part of your yearly eye examination to make sure the pressures are being maintained at a normal level. If gone unchecked, high or low pressures can lead to Glaucoma and ultimately, vision loss.

Specular Microscope The CellChek XL specular microscope represents the latest in endothelial cell analysis, algorithms, and computer technology. Enhanced with auto-focus, auto-alignment, and auto-cell counting, the CellChek XL easily captures consistent, high quality images of the patient's corneal endothelium using a patented method that identifies the position of the cellular interface.

Optoview RTVue

optovue® RTVue SD-OCT

  • Ultra-high speed: 65 time faster (26,000A-scan/s) for 3D and high density mapping
  • High Resolution: Twice the resolution (5µm) than Stratus™ OCT
  • Scan depth: Up to 2.5mm for imaging the macular and 2.3mm for imaging a tilt disk.
  • Two image modes:
    • Vitreo mode: for better vitreoretinal tissue image
    • Choriod mode: for better chorioretinal tissue image
  • High transverse scan resolution:15µm
  • Video fundus image: Fundus camera optical design for high quality NIR retina image
  • Non-mydriatic imaging: The pupil size required for the fundus image is 3.0mm
  • Long working distance: 22mm from cornea to ocular lens
RTVue is an ultra-high speed, high resolution OCT retina scanner used for retina imaging and analysis. It is based on the next generation Fourier-Domain Optical Coherence technology just emerging from clinical research in the last two years. The ultra-high speed and high resolution features enable the FD-OCT to visualize the retinal tissue with ultra-high clarity in a fraction of seconds. learn more<
